What is a destination wedding?

A destination wedding is a ceremony that's held outside of the couple's hometown, which requires travel for most (if not all) of those involved.  Destinations weddings for photographers is anywhere 200+ miles away from their business location. Destination weddings are perfect for those who want to experience an adventurous wonder-lust for a out of the norm special experience.

I take a very easy-going - documentary-style approach when capturing weddings. I want you to remember the feeling of marrying your best friend and be able to look back on all of the little moments that made your wedding day your special day. My wedding collections can be tailored to you with à la carte items, such as a second photographer, additional hours, ect.

Travel and accommodation INf0:

Clients will cover for:

• Photographers miles - (40 cents/mile) - (Round trip by car - if trip is less than 400 miles / 7 hours drive time)

• Photographers (round trip) plane ticket to the destination area. (If over 400 miles/ 7 hours away)

• Photographers 2 nights stay lodging (1 nights prior to the event and the night of the event)

• Photographers Rental car for the two day stay

Photographer cover for:

• On site gas

• Tolls

• Meals

• Extra night accommodations or lodging if I intend to prolong the trip


I arrive at the destination area 1 day prior to the wedding.

i.e. A Saturday wedding would be a Friday arrival.

In the event there are unforeseen circumstances or delays while traveling, an extra day to travel is there as back up. This would also give me an oppertunity to scope the land and wedding venur for preparation.

• The airline used will be either Delta or American Airline 'depending on which one is available to fly to your location.

• Hotels are book through the closest Hilton location.

• Rental Cars are booked through the airline supplier for the full 2-day stay.

Final cost of the Travel and lodging:

Every location for destination weddings will differ from one another. After speaking with you I will be able to get more information on the location as well as tally in that information to get a final estimate for you.


Where are you willing to travel?

A.I’m willing to travel anywhere! It could be domestic or international!
Please contact me ASAP since your wedding may book several days in my calendar or the entire weekend and I need to make sure to clear my schedule for it.

What do you travel with?

A.For flights, I bring my photography equipment as carry on for safety. It’s already as light as possible, so this allows me to travel easily.

Do you have a work flow specifically for destination weddings?

A.Not too different than local weddings, but I try to scout the location a day or two prior to the wedding day.
If you have a rehearsal dinner or a site visit the day before, please let me know. I will do everything to be there so I can check out the area for the best portraits.

After the wedding, I will be uploading the images immediately to an external hard drive and my laptop.

How long till we receive the photographs?

A.3-5 weeks after the event / wedding.
Previews for social media will be sent within 1-3 days after the wedding.

What payment method do you use?

A.After we discuss the details of the wedding package, travel and lodging expenses and any ad ons you wish to have, you will be invoiced where you can pay online. If you wish to use a different payment method, that is someothing that we can discuss.

Do you have copyrights? Can we print and share?

A.Copyrights are there for legal purposes. I do retain the copyright as I want to be able to protect myself and you from any 3rd parties using the photos without our permission.

In terms of my own personal viewpoint, I want to share the photos – I have nothing holding me back from doing so – they are photos of you, your family, and your guests and you should be able to freely use them 🙂
I give full personal printing and distribution rights with your selected images.
You can also order professional prints through my online gallery store.

Can we have 2 photographers?

A.If you would like another photographer to be there to capture more moments, let me know. I can arrange for another photographer to be there for an extra cost. I have 2nd shooters on standby that use the same equipment, same lighting and similar shooting style to mine so that your photos are consistent.

Are guest aloud to take photographs during the wedding?

A.They are your friends and family! Whatever 'you' say is a go!
An unplugged wedding isn’t always necessary, but I do appreciate it when there isn’t a large iPad being thrown up during the ceremony 😛

Do you edit all of your photos?

A.Yep, all of the photos are edited for color, exposure and aesthetic appeal!

Do you retouch the photos?

A.I provide light retouching such as skin smoothing and blemish correction. I understand that sometimes stress blemishes can appear and those can be removed out on my end.

Do you shoot elopments?

A.Yup! I really love elopements!
They provide a bit more of a personal touch and, generally, I find them to be more relaxed.

Can we meet up? Possibly do a video call? I have more questions.

A.Of course, I would love that! I think it is very important to get to know each other and see if our personalities are a fit before signing the contract.

Will you create a photography schedule?

A.Absolutely! In fact that is priority number 1 in the months leading up to the wedding. After you wedding is in the books, I will send you a wedding questionnaire. This questionnaire will provide me with all the details and general timeline of your day, right down to the names of family members and bridal party.
